WestJet is showing some cheap open-jaw Multi City flights where you would fly from Halifax to Edinburgh, Scotland and then back from Dublin, Ireland to Halifax for $436 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
This allows you to visit both Scotland and Ireland without having to backtrack.
The flights are nonstop both ways.
You can also book these as separate one way flights for $159-$265 CAD each way.
A one way flight from Edinburgh to Dublin typically goes for around $25-$50 CAD.
Or you could slowly make your way from Edinburgh to Dublin some other way. It's only about 10-12 hours between the two cities including the ferry crossing over to Ireland.
