Last minute flight to New York: $225 roundtrip after tax

Halifax to New York *never* seems to drop below $400 roundtrip after tax, no matter when you book it. It's pretty consistent that way.
But December 11-14 from Halifax to JFK on Delta just dropped to $225 roundtrip after tax.

New York around the Christmas season is pretty amazing from what I hear!
