Europe Airpost to fly from Halifax to Paris and Scotland | Summer flights for $864 roundtrip after taxes

French airline Europe Airpost has just scheduled some summer 2014 charter flights between Halifax and Glasgow, Scotland (GLA) and Paris, France (CDG).
The schedule for the new route for the months of July and August 2014 is as follows...
Halifax to Paris
- departing Friday's at 10 AM
Paris to Halifax
- departing Thursday's at 1PM
Halifax to Glasgow
- departing Friday's at 10 AM
Glasgow to Halifax
- departing Thursday's at 2:30 PM
You can likely book a multi-city flight as well, such as into Paris and out of Glasgow, for the same price as a regular roundtrip flight.
The flights will be on a Boeing 737-700, configured in a two-class lay-out with a capacity of 128 seats: 24 in Premium Economy class and 104 in Economy class.
As far as price goes, the fares are currently showing as approximately 599 Euros roundtrip including taxes, with all baggage fees included. Based on today's conversion rate, this works out to $864 CAD.
Compared to all other airlines, a price of $864 is around $250-$350, or 20-25% cheaper, than the next cheapest flights from Halifax to Glasgow or Paris in the peak summer travel months of July and August. A more than competitive price to be sure!
These flights will be interesting to watch. If Europe Airpost has trouble filling seats, perhaps they'll be forced to lower their price even further, as is sometimes the case when an airline launches a new route.
